Summary
The Medusans possess navigation technology beyond the Federation's wildest dreams. Literally. But nonetheless Starfleet wants to make those dreams a reality, risk of going insane in the pursuit be damned. Which means that Captain Kirk and his crew are tasked with ferrying a trio on their way to the Medusan homeworld where a telepathic bonding between a Medusan and a human will help facilitate an expansion of the Federation navigation tech. Summary
After joining the crew of the Enterprise, their new crewmates get curious about Scotty's exact physical relationship with Keenser. Scotty seems so cavalier and bossy. Is the little guy being abused? But Scotty just gets jealous of all the attention that Keenser is receiving. Scotty is so used to being Keenser's whole world that Scotty realizes that he is not ready to share Keenser with anyone else.
Meanwhile, Jim Kirk is having problems keeping a professional distance from a very flirty Nyota Uhura who seems to want to get him in a compromising position. Thankfully, Spock is very supportive of whatever Kirk does. The Vulcan has time to do that since his relationship with Dr. McCoy is very stable and satisfying for a change. Seems that the First Officer and CMO have gotten very compatible and chummy with each other lately. Another reason for eyebrows to be raised by other members of the Enterprise crew.
Sometimes the Enterprise is more gossipy than a soap opera!
