After everything that happened in Capri, Stephanie Smothers was trying to move on with her life. Now, with Miles and Nick in her care, Stephanie was focused on forgetting the woman who had haunted her for the past five years, and who now seemed to be far away.
However, Emily Nelson would be unable to leave the woman of her life behind. After accepting a bold request from the owner of the biggest mafia in Italy, she returns to New York to look for Stephanie before they set off on another adventure together: a search for a teenage assassin who was disrupting the Versano family's business.
However, Emily did not expect that her dark past would come back to haunt her, this time not as a sister, but as a long-lost daughter.

Emily Nelson is a different story, she makes no effort to try and hide the darkness in her eyes. For some reason, Stephanie is drawn to that darkness, even though it may very well be the end of her.
