    In an alternate 1912, Writers are like wizards that can summon their book characters as their companions. Society is split into three separate social classes based on the type of Writer: Flashes, Shorts, and Novels. Non-Writers do other jobs as usual. A forbidden romance between the character of a short story fiction and an epic novel ensues, throwing the system into chaos.
