Summary
A collection of drabbles for VanVen week 2021.
Day 1: Vanitas is a thief, and somehow, Ven has become his partner in crime. Ven doesn't mind at all.
Day 2: New Year's Eve spurs a conversation of who Ventus and Vanitas used to be, who they are now, and what they could be in the future.
Day 3: Vanitas asks Ven to put an end to him. Ven decides he doesn't want to.
Day 4: Vanitas feels everything that Ventus does, but that doesn't mean he understands exactly what his other half is feeling.
Day 5: Recovery isn't linear. Bad days don't offset progress. Even when nightmares turn to panic attacks in the dead of night.
Day 6: Vanitas begs Ventus to wake up, to no avail.
Day 7: Vanitas accidentally discovers his neighbor is a vampire. It goes better than expected. -

Summary
With Xehanort and Vanitas dead and gone, Ventus assumed he would be able to move on with his life. However, there’s something deeper to his life, and the lost half of his heart is the only answer—which means he’s not as gone as Ventus thought, giving them another chance.

“Man… I finally get to be with you without having to lie about it, and we can’t even go anywhere.”
“What, someplace you want to visit?”
“Twilight Town,” Ventus says, so quickly that he’s obviously thought about this a lot. It’s true that they’ve yet to visit that world together. There are too many people there who could rat them out to Aqua. “We could get dinner at the Bistro and go see a movie. Watch the sunset together.”
Vanitas opens a dark corridor. He rolls to his feet and looks expectantly back at Ventus. “Well? The exit is right there, Ventus.”
