As a sickly child, Midoriya Izuku succumbs to death. Even though it is quite natural, just the age that he died makes his death as tragic as his life. But he carries on. As a ghost, Midoriya is left confused from his amnesia and depressed from his lack of feeling. The poor boy finds solace in a man he chooses to follow at random curiosity. Maybe death wasn't the worst thing for him. Though, haunting a skeptic of ghosts that is depressed and paranoid isn't the best idea.
tldr: Midoriya haunts the depressed cat lover Aizawa and finds a friend

Officially, Lieutenant Ren Cross only had 1 deployment and a couple solo opps under their belt. Not nearly enough experience for the Lieutenant position, which was already questionable due to their age. However, anyone important enough with high enough clearance to ever need to see this particular soldier's file, was also aware that this was only the above board file. Officially, Ren Cross was a special forces Lieutenant, unofficially, Ren Cross was known only as operative Crow.
A file with more blacked out information than not. Operative Crow and Ren Cross existed as two entirely separate entities. Different people with different lives, different names, different priorities, and different feelings.
Operative Crow did not exist outside of the shadows. No registration number, no country of origin or citizenship, all classified to hell and back with enough missions and deployments to put even some of the most experienced operatives to shame.
Operative Crow did not exist outside the shadows, and Ren Cross barely existed at all.
Until they did.
