After some shit happens the summer before his junior year back in Beacon Hills, Stiles' dad decides to ship him off to live with what's rest of the Gilbert family in Mystic falls. It doesn't really change his fate though, he's just dealing with Vampires instead of werewolves.

He didn't tell anyone about the changes. How could he? They'd think it was the Nogitsune again, that he was still compromised, still a threat to himself and the rest of Beacon Hills. They'd look at him with that expression again. He'd rather be ignored. Rather be the loner on the edges of a pack that was bonding closer together as the days passed.
He was contemplating the logistics of dragging a dead vampire through the woods when a slow clap started behind him.
"Very impressive. It didn't even sense you until you were right on top of it," Peter's voice carried that distinctive dryness he seemed to resort to with every interaction. Stiles could relate, in a way. It was a good armour to wear to discourage people from looking deeper.

Summary
Stiles Stilinski would like it known that he did not intend to break the law. Or get a new boyfriend. Or be forcefully adopted and recruited by the BAU. He never intended to solve murders, just as he never intended to get his best friend turned into a Halloween stereotype. Though he doesn't regret it, he would like to blame it on Scott and Jackson for leaving Stiles and Danny unsupervised in a lockable room with alcohol. Honestly, their lives would have been much simpler if they had just stuck to the normal teenage things like making out, instead of hacking the BAU.
