Louis cleared his throat, clearly uncomfortable.
“Nah,” he said after Harry had already regretted asking. “I, um, I actually didn’t pass my A-levels,” he shared, voice quiet. “Well, I didn’t take my A-levels,” he corrected.
Harry frowned, taken aback.
“How come?”
“Circumstances,” Louis answered shortly, clearly having no interest in the conversation anymore.
Harry faltered.
“You know, you can always go back to—” he started, but Louis spoke over him.
“You know, I don’t see how it’s relevant to you fucking me later tonight.”
Harry blinked.

“I’m not gay,” Harry says simply, hoping he will be left alone. Hoping that this admittedly hot guy will think that his gaydar has given up somehow. Hoping that this complete stranger won’t see through his charade.

Harry heard him before he saw him. A rather raspy, still honey-like voice. Little cute laugh. Harry swallowed his saliva. He was about to see something fucking pretty, he was so sure of it.
It was probably the most beautiful boy in all of London. Not very tall, about Niall’s height. Skinny, but with impressive muscular arms. A part of Harry wanted him to flex them a little. He bit his tongue.

Peters never approved of swearing very much, but Louis was his favourite. He could do whatever and say whatever, he could never get in trouble like the other lads.
“Be on your best behaviour,” Peters warned. “And, Lou, they are all very hot. Right up your alley. Maybe have more than just fun tonight, yes?”
“I haven’t eaten anything, Si, and I don’t intent a boy’s cock to be my first meal of the day,” Louis answered simply.
Peters laughed.
“Louis, that was rude. But also not true. You and I both know what you’d prefer if given a choice. Besides, they are all very fit and handsome. Especially Harry.”

Harry snorts. “The truth, is it?” he says. “That’s an interesting idea. What’s the ‘truth,’ then? Are you going to tell me about how my fiancé is just too irresistible, about how you love him more than I ever could, about how you deserve him?”
“No,” Louis says honestly. “I definitely don’t deserve him -- and neither do you. We both deserve way better.”

It felt like the blood froze in Harry’s veins even as he got a bit lightheaded. He hadn’t even made it two practices, only one of which he was remotely in charge of, without giving it all away and now he and Liam were both absolutely fucked.
“Shit,” Harry breathed out. “Who all have you told? Does everyone know? I thought I covered it better than that…”
“No, no,” Louis said quickly. "They’ll figure it out soon enough, though, because they’ll get used to you changing things up, but you’re only going to trip over your so called Americanisms for so long before they realize it’s because you don’t actually know fuck all about football.”
Harry sighed. “Yeah. I figured. I just need to bullshit for long enough to allow Liam to get the situation figured out from his end.”
“Right, which brings me to my entire point. I think we can find a mutually beneficial arrangement with all of this.” Louis leaned forward. “You need to learn the ins and outs of the sport incredibly fast. I can help you with that.”
