Summary
Jack knows he shouldn’t be drinking coffee so late at night. Even if he argued that the whiskey he mixed in canceled out the effects of the caffeine, he can feel the buzz of restlessness at the base of his skull. No more sleep will come to him tonight. To be honest, he hadn’t even gone to bed. The team had watched movies since they arrived back from the day’s mission and he’d simply dozed on the couch throughout most of them; several grandpa jokes had been thrown at him fondly as a result. Now, alone in the communal kitchen, he doesn’t regret taking that time to rest and relax, but it’s left him jumpy and unsettled. Perhaps worse, the old soldier isn’t sure how to get the energy out.
