“You know,” Kisuke says after a few seconds. Evidently, he’d found his voice. “There’s something I’ve been wondering about while you were away.”
“Oh?” Ichigo asks.
Kisuke hums. “Kept thinking about this orange-haired brat who looks at me with stars in his eyes and whose hand felt warm in mine. Kept wondering if he felt the same as me,” he says.
It’s beating around the bush, and Ichigo wants to laugh at the attempt. “If you’re asking whether I like you, Kisuke, the answer is yes,” he says.
Kisuke pouts. “I was trying to be romantic!” he protests.
Rolling his eyes, Ichigo grins just a little. “I don’t need you to wax poetic. I learnt Go for you, you idiot. That’s declaration enough.”

Honestly, he’s been expecting this for a while now. Orihime spends more time here than at her own place, more time here than Ichigo does.
Ichigo can afford to get his own place if he looks for something small. It’s not like he’ll be there much anyway, since he’s just going to keep going over to the Shoten with or without the excuse of avoiding overhearing his friends having sex—
Or, I could just ask to move in, Ichigo thinks. It’s not like it’d be much different from what I’m doing now.
He’s pretty sure Kisuke will let him. The only down side is that there’ll be no running away to hide for a week whenever he's reminded he loves Kisuke so much that it hurts, but Ichigo can deal with that.

“Kurosaki-sama!” they shout, and Ichigo splutters. What the actual fuck.
“Who the fuck are you calling ‘sama’ you bastards! Get out of here already!” Ichigo grouses, kicking the nearest one in the side for effect.
The man he’s kicked, a bulky bald man probably like 20 years old or something—he’s bad at ages, it comes with the territory of being surrounded by ghosts and shinigami so often—groans but he keeps his eyes locked on Ichigo and he doesn’t stop grinning and it looks like there are fucking stars in this guys eyes. Seriously. What. The. Fuck.
“Our boss wants to meet you, Kurosaki-sama!” another of the thugs shouts.
“Hah?” Ichigo runs a hand through his hair roughly. “I’m not going to meet your fucking boss, you idiots. Stop causing trouble around here and leave me alone.”
He goes to walk away, content that they couldn’t be causing Kimura-san or Suzuki-chan, her daughter, any problems when they head home in an hour or so, and one of them literally grabs onto his leg, clinging like a child.
What the hell has he done to deserve this.
