“What do you want from me, Izuku?” Katsuki asks, voice smaller than he’d like it to be, unsteady. “Why did you come here?”
“I—I wanted to see Kacchan.”
“You saw him. Here he is.”
Katsuki swings his free arm in a wide arc. Izuku’s eyes follow it. From the kitchen, to the All Might poster on the wall, to the UA graduation picture of him and Izuku smiling under the cherry blossoms that sits in a small frame on his bookshelf. There are more things he hasn’t bothered to unpack yet, gathering dust in cardboard boxes in the back of his closet. These were the most important. Katsuki has to be careful about where he puts his limited energy these days.
Or, Katsuki plans to spend his Christmas Eve by himself. It doesn’t quite go that way.

Izuku’s shoulders unwind, and he hums. “Different how?”
It’s vague and noncommittal when Katsuki shrugs and rubs his face into Izuku’s hair. He has to slump down to be hidden all the way. “I…” His heart thuds not only in this chest, but through his whole body, inside his skull. “Wanted to try something new?”

Katsuki dredges up the courage to ask for something. Izuku delivers in spades.

Summary
“Kacchan,” Izuku says, pressing the cool tip of his nose into Katsuki’s throat. His lips are cool too, and wet, when they follow. “Do you…do you want—” His fingers press into Katsuki’s waist, and it feels nice, that touch. But Katsuki’s heart is thudding out against his ribcage from inside with enough force to scare him. “Can I…?” Izuku’s hand slides under Katsuki’s shirt, strokes over the small of his back, and then walks down to the waistband of his sweats.
He’s waiting for Katsuki now. But the longer Katsuki thinks about how he needs to answer, the less he’s able to answer, and he’s—Izuku is so hesitant. He’s so careful when he brushes his fingertips over the front of his pants, and Katsuki tenses up in an instant.
“Izuku—fuck, not—not today, I—” He tries to shuffle Izuku back, further away from his lap to give himself space.
Izuku’s face is transparent. So easy to see the surprise and disappointment flash across it before resignation sets in. “Okay,” he whispers, sitting back. His hands are back on Katsuki’s shoulders, and even that feels like too much right now. “Sorry, Kacchan.”

Katsuki heals after the war, and navigates his relationship with Izuku.

“Do you and Kacchan kiss?”
Izuku has to really try not to smile despite the lump blocking his airway. “Yeah.”
Deku makes an affirmative hum in his throat. “And—” He licks his lips. “And you have sex?”
“Mhm.” Izuku remembers the burning curiosity he hadn’t been able to shake as a teenager, so tangled up with other feelings he wasn’t equipped to parse out. “It’s not scary anymore, I promise.” Deku nods at the floor. It must be hard for him to imagine. “Kacchan’s gonna be really patient with you, when you first get together.” Deku sniffs and scrubs the back of his wrist under his nose, nodding harder. “He won’t admit it, but he was scared too.”

Katsuki feels his own face heat up. Yeah, he knows that. Knows that Izuku’s been wanting him for years. Since they were kids and he used to follow Katsuki around, squealing with glee at everything Katsuki did. Katsuki knows because as stupid as he thought Izuku was for trailing after him like a lovesick puppy, nothing could have prepared him to feel the same way.
