In the meantime, they’d have their familiar dance; trips to museums and galleries, promenades through the park, evenings in the shop where the world went golden and giddy at the edges.

Six thousand years, he’d gone without Crowley kissing him. He’d go another six if it meant giving Crowley the world instead.

[Crowley and Aziraphale have rekindled their old friendship, which is all they want from each other now that the world hasn't ended. Absolutely nothing more. Nothing at all.]

"Aziraphale, at your service - though, I should clarify, not in the way most people mean that." His eyes flicked deliberately down Crowley's body and back up again. "Unless you intend to be very specific.”

Crowley blinked once. "You're a genie."

“A Djinn,” Aziraphale corrected mildly. “Genie is rather imprecise. But yes - bound spirit, three wishes, and an impressive list of terms and conditions.”

Crowley has spent a long time searching for a magic teapot that is said to hold a creature that will grant three wishes, and he could do with a little magic in his life. What he doesn't expect, is for the magic to come not from a wish, but from something else entirely.

Crowley isn’t exactly thrilled about Aziraphale dipping his toes into online dating. The whole being madly in love with him for years might have something to do with it. Still, after a terrible first date with an online match, Crowley does his best to be the supportive friend but a little too much wine soon leads the two down a path they might not be able to come back from.

“I am no longer my own, but thine.
Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt.
Put me to doing, put me to suffering.
Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee,
exalted for thee or brought low for thee.
Let me be full, let me be empty.
Let me have all things, let me have nothing.
I freely and heartily yield all things
    to thy pleasure and disposal.
And now, O glorious and blessed God,
    Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it.
And the covenant which I have made on earth,
let it be ratified in heaven.
    Amen.”

    Summary

“Three days?” Crowley asked, trying to keep the brokenness out of his voice. Hopefully some of the emotion got lost somewhere over the phone line.

“They’re saying the weather is only going to get worse tomorrow. It may take even longer if more flights are delayed.”

“Right,” Crowley said, his eyes roaming sadly over the tree draped in string lights and topped with a glittery gold star, the small pile of presents wrapped in red and green paper lying beneath it, and the batch of cookie dough he’d been just about to set in the fridge to rest so they’d be ready to pop in the oven as soon as Aziraphale called to tell him he’d landed.

It could all wait, of course. There was no harm in opening presents a few days late, and the cookies would still be good, even if not quite as fresh. But this was meant to be their first Christmas together, and now they were spending it with Crowley alone in the flat above the bookshop and Aziraphale stranded in the Edinburgh airport. It’s a good thing Crowley was used to fate screwing him over.
