    C’yra and Lyra exchanged another look, but the sound of a door opening broke the silence before they could speak.

    “Mom? Mama?”

    Adora felt like she had been punched square in the stomach. That voice… it was soft in a way she had never heard, but she would know it anywhere. She could forget everything else, including her own name, but she would never forget the sound of that voice. She turned, holding her breath, to seek out the speaker.

    Her hair seemed softer — not quite the wild mess it had been her entire life, but not the same, unnatural way it had been slicked back the last time Adora saw her. The mask was gone, making her face seem more open and a little rounder, like when they had been kids. Her eyes were wide and openly curious, as if the innocence hadn’t yet been beaten out of her.

    Following Horde Prime's invasion, Micah takes the Adora, Glimmer, and Bow to meet the queens of Half Moon and appeal to them to re-join the war efforts. What's waiting there for them is more than they ever would have expected.

    "Mom!" She breathes a sigh of relief she doesn’t know she’s holding in when she hears their little voice. She finally spots the blonde tuft of hair sticking up haphazardly as Finn looks at her in excitement.

    "Finn, baby, you can't just run off like that! I've been calling—" Adora's words stutter to a stop and so does her brain. Finn is holding hands with an absolute bombshell of a woman.

    She's striking, one eyebrow slightly raised as she glances down at Finn and then up at her in a this yours?  type of gesture. She has black jeans and a crop top on, along with combat boots—she's the last person Adora would think would stop to help a child find their parent at the grocery store.

    Finn does a little jump, almost falling over in their excitement. "Mom! Isn't she so pretty?"

    OR

    Five times Finn inadvertently matchmakes for their mom and one time their mom figures it out another way. Wingbaby AU.

    She could never keep her eyes off her, she attentively listened to every noise she made, she could taste the bitterness on her tongue as she shouted at her, she found comfort in her scent like no other, she could feel every quiver of her body under her hands…

    She couldn't ignore anything about her even if she tried.

    It was simply impossible.
