Summary
"You are the right-hand man of the designated royalty," says Ajax slowly. "You are their eyes as their ears, you are their blade as you are their shield. You will be bound together—by blood and oath—to be sworn to each other as equals for all eternity. It is more than a promise—it is a god's bond."
And it was an oath that wasn't even just about love or honour, at this point. It was pure loyalty, through and through. Golden ichor loyalty, and whoever did it was bound for as long as the earth breathed. Morax knew and hoped this would not be the case.
He failed. "Then you know why you are here." His Father's voice booms, echoes throughout the room. Morax closes his eyes. "Young Ajax Tartaglia, in exchange for the death of the first branch's heir, you will swear all fealty to my son, from now till forever. Even if your people deign to end him, you will kill them before you kill him, and you will swear that you will let my son live, even if it means you die."
