Summary
"I know when a touch is platonic and when it's sexual in nature." You frown, your eyes flicking downwards to his hand still outstretched. "And I also know that you were being careful when you touched my hand. But that doesn't change the intention behind it."
"You don't know anything," he retorts back, like spitting acid. Or more accurately, poison.
"Yes, I do." Your voice remains calm, steady, unlike the erratic pulses and thumps in his ear. "Give me a 'small touch'"—you make air quotes—"then. Clearly, you think that a small touch means platonic."
He sneers. "Alright then, dearest."

Summary
"I still think I would've done a better job. Made much less of a mess. And you could've cuddled with me afterwards, and I would've kept you warm. Humph."
Caha was so incredibly wrong about that one thing: she was the one who made all this mess in the first place. Unceremoniously squeezing into his life, into his head, carelessly breaking and destroying all the rules he upheld, all the things he thought were right, all the plans he had for the future, and triumphantly taking the main place among the rubble of his disorderly mind, crowning herself as she took all the space inside it, leaving no room for other thoughts.
And a week later he was supposed to claim his rightful rewards for winning the bet and ferry her soul to the afterlife, never see her again, and turn back to the life he had before he ever knew her.
Yeah.
She couldn't have made a bigger mess if she tried.
When Casper reached out to her, Caha joked that if he could prove he was a real grim reaper before her upcoming birthday, she'll agree to hand over her soul to him the day after. As you can imagine, he did just that. But winning the bet wasn't as enjoyable as Casper imagined…

Summary
You were probably busy; just as he should be, Casper reminded himself with a grimace, casting a glance at his scythe propped up against the wall. There were plenty of souls in need of reaping, after all. He should be out there, doing his job, not huddled at his desk awaiting your call.
Yet his mind was so far removed from any thoughts of work; pinpointed, as it had increasingly become of late, on you: on your ridiculous jokes, on the obscure, nonsensical nicknames you kept bestowing upon him, on your radiance. Gods, he could think of little else these days.
