“It is technically dark magic,” he said as he handed the spell book that would allow him to find Harry over to Hermione.
“Does anyone get hurt?” she asked as she started to read.
He shook his head, “No.” Then he amended, “Well, it requires that I give up a little blood but I’ll be fine.”
“Right,” she said, as she read through to the end, “So if I understand correctly, there’s one person who acts as a tether to here and then the person who used their blood travels to the person or thing they’re locating.”
“Yes,” Draco affirmed. “Your concentration cannot waiver. The tether snapping while I’m getting him will definitely kill me and if I have Harry and we’re coming back through it will kill him, too.”
“No pressure, then,” she said sardonically.
“Sometimes having additional casters can help,” he offered, “Or it can be a distraction. I’m not really sure who else we could ask for help and the time it would take-”
“It’s fine,” she said, interrupting him, “I’ve got this.”
“Thanks,” he said, trying to infuse all of his gratitude into one syllable.
She nodded. “Of course,” Hermione said softly. “Let’s get started, shall we?”

“We can’t keep doing this.”
Harry froze, halfway into his shirt and turned to face Draco who was still in the bed that Harry had climbed out of a few minutes ago. “What?” he asked.
“We can’t keep doing this,” Draco repeated, shuffling up higher in the bed and adjusting the blankets around his waist.
“Doing what?” he asked, keeping his voice carefully neutral.
“This,” the other man replied, gesturing between the two of them. “We can’t keep sleeping together. There’s no future in it,” he said simply. “I have my family’s expectations and you have the wizarding worlds expectations,” he shook his head, “we can’t keep doing this.”
“But-”
“No buts,” Draco said. “Just-” he broke off and sighed, “A clean break, yeah? Before either of us gets too attached and before we get caught.”
It took him a moment to respond but eventually he managed a nod, “Right. Well it’s been fun,” he said, scratching his beard, “your-”
“Don’t,” Draco interrupted, “Salazar, Potter, whatever sentimental codswallop you’re about to say, just don’t. It’s fine. We were fucking and now we’re moving on.”

Summary
The door flew open and before Harry had even turned around fully, Draco was grabbing him. Leaning in and kissing him as he shoved him back against the counter and pressed their bodies together.
A surprised moan slipped from his mouth and Harry pulled him in closer, heedless of the way he was gripping Draco’s shirt with wet hands.
Draco’s thigh slid between his and their bodies slotted even closer as Draco broke away to kiss, nip, and suck at Harry’s neck.
“Huhh,” Harry breathed as Draco sucked hard at his pulse point, “Not that I’m complaining,” he managed, “but what brought this on?”
“Chapter thirteen of The Den of Thieves,” Draco replied as he slid his hands under Harry’s shirt.
And Harry was almost distracted enough by Draco’s hands on him that he let the statement slide past him but after a heartbeat, his brain processed what Draco had just said and he froze. “You-” he started before breaking off, “You read my books?”
“Yeah,” Draco said, nodding into his neck as he pulled Harry’s collar to the side.
“Wait,” Harry said, pushing him back a little so he could see his face. “How did you even find them?” he wrote under a pen name for a reason. Literally to avoid this situation.

This was a bad idea.
Harry knew it was a bad idea, had anything good ever come out of going on a Tinder Date?
But Luna and Ginny had been so persuasive last week when they’d been sitting around that cozy little table in their kitchen drinking sake that Luna had brought back with her from her recent trip to Japan to study Godric only knew which creature.
And could Harry really be blamed for believing them? When he was sitting there and watching Luna lovingly braid flowers into Ginny’s hair while they talked? When they had such a cozy little home and were obviously so happy together? Who could really blame him for reaching out to grasp at happiness when he felt so alone?
One drink, he told himself. He could handle one drink and then he’d politely excuse himself for the evening. No one said that you had to hook up with the bloke you’d only just met. Right?
Harry was steadily peeling the label off his beer and contemplating how big of an arse it would make him if he just disappeared and stood the other guy up when there was a quiet, posh, baritone asking, “Daniel?”
And Harry would have recognized that voice anywhere, in any circumstance, he whirled around, “Malfoy?”
