He expects to see nothing adorning the front porch except a single sunflower in a vase. He knows this because he had had it delivered from the Yamanaka’s shop as a welcome-back gift. Or maybe as a way of saying, “See there’s still beauty here, life, something worth coming back to.”
What he didn’t expect was that the flower had actually been planted in the soil and was standing proudly in front of the house, basking in the last kisses of the dying light. The sight makes him stop in his tracks: the image of Sasuke devoting time to find a correct spot for the plant, giving it a home, is almost laughable, and still. It’s sweet when he pictures it.
Sasuke crouched on the dug-up ground, his kimono dirty with fresh soil. Naruto smiles, something small.(He got pretty good at imagining his friend where he’s not)

Summary
“You could have died.” Anger is all over the other man’s face, sculpting every bit of his features, carving deep shadows on his troubled expression.
“You seemed too eager to.”
The cook scoffs loudly at that, “What’s that supposed to mean?”, he snarls mean.
Zoro tries to lift himself up a little to face this but the simple movement proves to be harder than expected and he’s barely straightened when a sharp pain passes him through as a nail, a nasty sting that makes him moan in pain clutching at his side. He hears the clank of the ashtray’s glass hitting the bedside table and then the cook is there, a hand behind his shoulders while the other adjusts the pillows so that they provide better support to his back.
Zoro looks up at the man as he’s working on fixing him up; brow furrowed, mouth closed shut, he reminds him of a child who’s trying so hard to be serious just to prove he’s not sad.

But the more he shared the more he feared his shadow would eventually grow bigger, in a way that it would be impossible not to see. And Zoro’s eyes had an intensity that made him feel seen in a way that was just a bit too uncomfortable, a bit too painful. So he didn’t join him on deck some nights, as the coward he was. He knew the other would wait for him in vain.
But Zoro’s eyes also felt like the night sky, in those depths black holes that could swallow him whole and garlands of stars to grab onto.

Ah, that’s it. Dazai’s newly acquired weapon, the one he perfected during his time at the Agency. Because it can be nothing other than that, can it? The display of sincerity, so uncharacteristic of him, the straightforwardness of it all sending chills down Chuuya’s skin, rippling, sharp things that threaten to cut him up any second.
But why does it look so real then? He can almost hear nostalgia singing the jingle of a game left abandoned on a shitty play station while slender fingers comb through his messy hair.or Dazai and Chuuya meet after the cannibalism affair has been taken care of. What's to come is still uncertain; Chuuya realizes it as they dance around each other (literally too).

Because many have tried before, to know the Tower in its entirety, and now Clancy alone counts their bones. In all the World, there have been twenty-five before him. But none of them were able to complete the task given to them before they perished.

The Torchbearer was an intensely fascinating person to Dema's Performer. He was fast, much faster than anyone with his build should be, and he had a secret which travelled with him as he made his perimeter escape from the city. He knew the Performer's true name. He knew who Clancy was, even when Clancy didn't know himself.
