Shelby bursts into a swarm of bats, darting forwards to grab Avid by the collar and hoist him into the air. He’s lighter than expected – this vampiric strength is nothing to scoff at.
Of course, he starts flailing immediately.
“Whoa-! Holy- Shelby?”
“Watch the bats, dude. I’m one of those and I don’t wanna drop you.”
The flailing subsides. “Sorry, it’s just- Bats kinda really gross me out.”

It’s a learning curve for all of them, but they’re trying, which is all you can really do in this situation, isn’t it?
