Summary
Ever since Percy Jackson fell into Tartarus at the end of his first quest, it was up to Nico di Angelo to carry on the Great Prophecy. It was never easy, but Nico did it. He saved Olympus, and continued on with his complicated life in this new era.
After saving Annabeth from certain death by falling into Tartarus, Nico must attempt to traverse the Pit, close the Doors of Death, and survive.
But maybe he doesn't have to do it by himself. There might be more allies in Tartarus than he thought.

Tartarus does not slumber, at least, not in the way his sister Gaia had decided to rest. He watches over his creations, ensures that they continue to fight, an endless horrific struggle for survival. So when two little half-blood began tearing their way through his realm with more brutality and efficiency than most of his immortal children, he took notice. Such wonderful little abominations these children were, such fun little toys.
Or an AU where Percy and Annabeths trip through tartarus is much worse, and the primordial himself is not so passive. With all of the deliciously fucked up things I wish could have been in a YA novel. Allegiance shifts, sanity crumbles, and at the end of it all they have to ask themselves, was it worth it?
