    Summary

A bookish shopkeeper. A chaotic botanist. A tour for children that turns into something far more unexpected.

Aziraphale Fell is perfectly content in his quiet Soho bookshop, surrounded by rare volumes. But when his overbearing brother accuses him (again) of never leaving the house, Aziraphale rashly signs up for a guided educational tour at Kew Gardens — proof, he thinks, that he’s perfectly capable of doing “normal, outdoor things.”

What he doesn’t realize, until it’s far too late, is that he’s accidentally enrolled on a children’s tour. Complete with sock puppets, seed-planting, and a tall, exasperating scientist named Crowley who somehow manages to make evolutionary biology sound like seduction.

Dr. Anthony J. Crowley would much rather be in the lab cataloguing extinct ferns, but thanks to budget cuts and a certain pushy colleague, he’s stuck entertaining school groups with talking tree roots. The last thing he expects is a fussy, overdressed man loitering among the toddlers — or how quickly said man gets under his skin.

A gentle slow-burn romance about spite-based outings, the magic of moss, and how sometimes, growth happens where you least expect it.

    Summary

Aziraphale looked up, stunned, into Crawly’s wide yellow eyes, the red waterfall of his hair, the sheen of sweat on his skin, and saw every impossible thing he was feeling reflected back at him. And there were many things to think in that moment, many strange and wonderful and fearful things, but what Aziraphale would remember later was the kinship of it, the no-longer-alone-ness of it, and how it made his eyes burn and his chest squeeze and his heart sing.
