    Summary

Lin Jing had just been there for work. To make sure this case was definitely nothing that should concern the Guardian Order like Zhao Yunlan already suspected. But then he spotted a figure he hadn't seen in months and was unable to look away.
    ---
Seeing him like this was… captivating. He was always captivating to Lin Jing. It already felt impossible to look away before, keeping his eyes on the other even as life shook around him, but this… The ease in the other was unlike the confidence in his power he'd had in the past. That was a beast ready to go to war for what he believed… this was a creature in harmony. Flourishing. How could Lin Jing even begin to try to tear his eyes away?

    Summary

It had all started with an offhand comment. One that Shen Wei seemed to barely consider worth muttering, but he was stressed to hide nothing from Zhao Yunlan now out of fear of losing the other. He would not have guessed those words would mean anything to anyone. Zhao Yunlan had nodded, acting impassively but Lin Jing could tell the small glint in his friend's eye that gave away when he was planning something. And Lin Jing didn't know what the plan might be, but he had to be involved.
"He's still alive. Changed, but still around. He's useless now."

    Summary

Lin Jing and Zhu Hong had been sent to a mountain resort to investigate an artifact smuggling case, never expecting to cross paths with the one that Lin Jing couldn't stop thinking about for the almost half a year since his life had been saved.
Gui Mian had wandered many places after his loss for a place to belong, then two SID members showed up in the place he finally felt safe and happy. Will he have to fight to protect what he's made there?
    ---
They were suddenly closer. Too close to him. Too close to his home. And he panicked, acting like a cornered animal when neither of them showed signs of noticing him… until it was too late. He saw Gui Mian.

    Summary

After all things ended and began again, Gui Mian was left to find where he fit in a world that was different from the one he had been born into. Stumbling upon Lin Jing halfway had not been planned, but what did he expect if he continued walking around Longcheng after all?
He wasn't surprised when Lin Jing approached instead of running away. Fearless. And a liar. Pretending to be scared when he wasn’t.
Gui Mian kind of liked it. The pretense. And the way Lin Jing would smile at him when they talked, that was sincere.

    Summary

Sometimes Lin Jing would stare at Zhao Yunlan's empty shoulder, unavoidable reflections occurring to him. And although he himself possessed all the soulfires, he also felt something essential was missing.
There was so much dust and dark water from the Wangchuan spreading everywhere, forming black mud when they pooled. There were still echoing screams and crashes here and there, from what was yet to break and fall.
Returning there, with a mere human body, was a very high risk. It required more foolishness than courage.
If enlightenment is individual, is it rebellion to make it two souls instead?
