Summary
"Charles, I—" Edwin's voice sounded as shocked and unsure as Charles was feeling. Charles felt his hands grip onto his shirt, could feel the way his entire body quivered against him. "That was quite irregular."
Charles almost gaped. Of course Edwin would sum up that as simply irregular. "Mate, we both know that was fucked up," he stressed, leaning in to brush the tip of his nose against his hair. "Are you okay? Should we move you to the couch?"
Edwin seemed to hesitate, glancing at his hands. At least his flickering had stopped. "Whatever anomaly that was seems to have passed," he noted, which Charles was pretty sure was code that no, he wasn't feeling great, but he wasn't going to grouse about it because Edwin had suffered worse things in Hell. Well, Charles was here to fuss, and he wasn't going to feel better until Edwin was legitimately comfortable.

In other words, something is amiss with Edwin after the events of Port Townsend. Can Charles help Edwin solve this mystery?

Leo let go. Donnie rushed to return back to his side of the cell — the cell? Oh, shit. Yeah, this was a cell. Typical prisoner treatment. Stone floors, stone walls. Dim lighting. Steel doors barring them from escaping. There was a set of chains fixed to Leo's wall, but they were suspiciously Leo-less. Really, the only unusual thing was the part where Donnie's skin kept melting off-and-on each time Leo blinked.
"Am — Am I high?"
Donnie sucked in a deep, greedy breath, as far back to the wall as he could go. "You're not not high."
"Shit."
or, after the last time the Shredder messed with his mind, Leo is much more susceptible to temporary breaks from reality. When he and his brothers are captured by the Foot and Leo is dosed with an unknown substance, half the battle in escaping is dealing with the hallucinations that follow him.

Stockman shrugged. The motion was casual, but Leo could see in his twitchy little eyes that he was as panicked as he ever was. “Zzz – ome of him may have been lo – zzz – t in the proce – zzz, but I completed my ta – zzz – k. He’ll gladly kill the rat now.”
He sat up like a shot. Clambering toward Stockman, he didn’t so much as walk as pounce, tackling the stupid bug in one quick move. He pulled him close, even as his hairy little fists pounded against his chest. “The rat? Where’s the rat? I need him, need to kill him – where is he – I know you know, I know you know, you told him so tell me where’s the rat?”
Stockman gaped, mouth opening and closing but not a word coming out. Leo growled and hurled him against the ground. He spasmed, trying to crawl away, but Leo planted a kick in his ribs to throw him off. He grabbed his squirming ankles and yanked them towards him, and when he was only a few inches away, he leaned into where the fly’s ears should be and screeched, “WHERE’S THE RAT?”
or, the Shredder uses the Brain Worms on Leo, not Raph, and he's a little more creative about it. Based on IDW's City Fall arc.

“You pretend to be my boyfriend until after the Halloween Jamboree and I won’t tell Charles about what happened with Esther first year,” Monty said, staring him down with the most seriousness Edwin had ever seen upon his countenance. “Deal?”
Or: In return for an old favor, Edwin agrees to pretend to date Monty until Halloween. Which is totally fine and not a big deal except for how it seems to be not fine and a very big deal to just about everyone he’s ever met.
