Summary
Jace is a Shadowhunter. He likes being a Shadowhunter. He likes being stronger and faster and seeing what mundanes don't see. He likes fighting with purpose and ridding the world of demons who don't belong here anyway. He likes that Shadowhunters don't get Soulmate Geese.
Shadowhunters live fast and die young so they have to find their one great love faster than most. They don't have time to dither around and resist the pull of fate. Which means they aren't dumb enough to need a demonic hellbird made up of the foundational magic of the universe to force them to acknowledge their soulmate.
Fuck Soulmate Geese.

Summary
Things Magnus knows for certain:
Jace is a Herondale, which answers as many questions as it raises
Secondly, Jace is the Knight Commander of the King's Guard and Magnus is destined for Alicante Keep
Third, Magnus was retrieved from the Garroway home in Hunter's Moon as opposed to his own home in Brooklyn, which is significantly farther away
Fourth, he is riding Alexander's personal horse, meaning Alexander could not come himself. Furthermore, there has been no direct communication from Alexander, which means he could not or was not permitted to send word.
Finally, Magnus is completely, irresponsibly, irreversibly in love with Alexander and is willing to do a great many foolish, dangerous things to ensure his well-being

Summary
The credit chit opens a tab under 'John Shepard' and Aryn supposes that explains a few things. You would've had to be living under a rock for the past few years not to recognize the name of the first human Spectre who saved the Citadel. He also remembers hearing the Normandy went down not long after, taking her commander with her.
However, Aryn works at Purgatory, so if you see a celebrity, no you didn't, and that includes dead men. He keeps his mouth shut and passes over a whiskey like this is any other patron.

Summary
When Stiles steps into the room that the Hale house has conjured for him to stay in, the first thing he sees is a window already open, letting in a pleasant breeze. The second is a door in the right-hand wall.
Laura clears her throat, scratching at her nose. “That leads to Derek’s room.”
Stiles’ eyebrows shoot up and a laugh bursts out before he can stop it. Now he understands how the pack knew this room probably wouldn’t belong to his dad (which, gross).
He looks over his shoulder at Derek who’s glaring pointedly at everything except for Stiles with pink-tipped ears.
“Presumptuous. I like it,” he says to the house, patting one of the walls and throwing a wink at Derek hovering in the doorway.

When the Hale pack transitions to a new Alpha, Stiles is thrilled to be assigned to Beacon Hills to try out as their new Emissary. He and his dad are immediately enamoured with the idyllic little town, fitting right in with the rest of the Hales – except for Derek. The new Alpha shows no signs of welcome, but it will be hard for him to stay stubborn in the face of his family’s encouragement and a sentient house that has plans for the two of them whether Derek likes it or not.

“Holy—shit,” Stiles breathed, Bacon stopping in what he was doing, still staring at him intently, as if begging him to understand, for someone to finally understand. Stiles felt like he’d been electrocuted and he leapt out of his chair, kneeling in front of Bacon and grabbing at his furry face. “Holy shit! Oh my God, are you—wait, holy—you’re not fucking with me, right?!”
Bacon let out two quick barks, which Stiles chose to interpret as ‘no.’
“Oh my God, are you a real person in there?!” Stiles shouted in the wolf’s face, staring him right in the eye. He was still holding the wolf’s head with both hands, but Bacon dipped his muzzle in confirmation and Stiles officially lost his mind.
“Oh my God!” he shouted again, releasing Bacon to clutch at his own hair. “Oh my God! Dude, for real?! You’re—holy shit! Holy shit!” He didn’t know how to react to this news. He had no fucking idea how to react. This was a person?! But how?! How was this a person?! People didn’t just turn into wolves!
