Summary
Contains root vegetables, Elven politics, the powers of the princes of the Noldor, consideration of the Gimli Question, contrasting leadership styles among Elves, party planning, and background hobbits. Also, Maglor's thoughts on the whole 'when did Amrod die' issue.
“They say Fëanor burned his own son alive, and did not even weep,” someone said after a while, quite distinctly, from further down the table. It sounded as if he had meant to be heard, though the voice was a little slurred, and probably somewhat drunk.
“Well, of course he did. He was quite mad,” someone Maglor could not see said, chuckling offensively.

Summary
In which Maglor and Elrond meet Maglor's mother Nerdanel, Finrod makes a miscalculation, Maglor is princely, and Elrond is amused. And Finarfin is reluctantly kingly, even when surprised in his gardening clothes.
‘Fëanor!’ someone shouted, and again, ‘Fëanor!’ and the whole crowd took up the call. Louder and louder, again and again, the old warcry of East Beleriand baying out across the city, a deep sound building like waves on the shore, but with a good deal more menace to it.
Maglor gave Finrod a pained look. “I thought you said that a quiet visit would cause no trouble!” he said.

Summary
Elrond, newly arrived in the West, and Celebrían discuss family, Rivendell, getting settled in Tol Eressëa, missing Middle-earth, the House of Fëanor as pastries, and the Breaking of the World. Includes brief depiction of Celebrían’s torment in the dens of the orcs, and a fencing lesson with Maglor. Probably in this particular version of Arda, it was Celebrían who invented Lembas.
