Summary
After fleeing all the business with Heaven’s Eye and chasing a formidable distance after Ling Wen and the Brocade Immortal, Xie Lian finally stops. It’s clear that he won’t catch up with them. Ling Wen is too quick, the heavens aren’t responding; he’ll have to think up something else. When it’s decided that they will focus on other matters, he sets Hua Cheng, child-sized and child-shaped, down. To his alarm, his friend immediately collapses into his own form, dressed in black, one palm braced against the ground and another to his chest. His hair falls loose and dark around his face. He doesn’t move for a long moment.
He looks, in a wave of dizzying memory, like… but that’s not reasonable.
