"Because," Jason laughed, pulling the car out of the parking lot. "A friend messaged me asking if I wanted to join up for a job with my old team, and I think it would be fun to introduce you guys."

"You have friends?" Slipped out instinctively, more curious than insulting, but Damian still pressed his lips together in amusement at Jason's dramatic gasp, quickly turning to look out the window and avoid his older brother's fury.

"Ok, first of all," Jason shot back loudly, holding up a finger in his direction. "The only friends you've ever had have been my subordinates that I'd ordered to take care of you, second-,"

"Hit a nerve there, didn't I?" Damian turned to input gleefully.

    "-SECOND," Jason yelled over him.

    Summary

Jason Todd is good at extortion. He's what the adults call a snoop - nobody paid attention to the little kid with the big ears. Without even realizing, adults would hand him the keys to getting what he needed. Jason knew how to collect information, because adults found information valuable. And it was. It was free, easy to get, and easy to carry, so long as he kept his head clear and his facts straight.
Jason had information Batman could use. He knew it. He had thought it over all day, sitting on that moldy couch, eating stale saltines. Batman would definitely be interested in the information Jason had.

Batman had become scary again, like the old stories Jason used to hear the goons in the area tell. Breaking bones, just barely keeping people alive. Batman didn’t kill, no, but sometimes? Sometimes living was worse, maybe.
Jason stayed crouched behind that dumpster, silent, because he simply couldn’t decide if Batman was far gone enough to make a kid wish he was dead.

(Jason Todd knows how to get what he wants, and Batman tries to lure him to safety.)

“You don’t know what I was going to ask,” Clark said with a hint of a smile. “Maybe I just wanted to congratulate you on catching the Film Freak.”

Bruce gave him a flat look.

“Or maybe I think I can help.”

    “With a case of vandalism?”

Clark stepped in front of him. “It’s not vandalism and you know it, detective.”

“And what makes you say that?”

“If it were vandalism it would be something a lot more juvenile. To the point. It wouldn’t claim there were seventeen missing kids. That’s public outcry.”

    “Is that so?”

“That and I tried to do a story on the growing number of homeless children last month and I got shut down. According to the last count, the numbers have been decreasing, but there’s been no change in policies, no extra funding to CPS, or shelters, or even an increase in the number of inmates in the juvenile detention center. So where are they going?”

Detective Bruce Wayne may have the highest solve rate in Gotham, but if he wants to solve this case, he’ll need the help of an elusive street kid, and while Dick Grayson always lands on his feet, he usually lands himself right into trouble.

Interesting series, it's fascinating to see the non-hero versions of the JL that have to navigate society through the more normal channels, whole still having to deal with full-on supervillains

Very cool, excited to see what happens next!

    Very well written, surprisingly funny
I love seeing Tim doing exactly the most inconvenient things for the people around him, and I liked that the author wasn't afraid to make the situation messy and give tim some actual bite

    Summary

"Clark. What the hell is this," Lois asks, staring at Clark's Bruceman WIP folder. Clark's first instinct is to fly away, but that would still leave his fic on display for her to see. His second instinct is to blast a hole straight through his laptop screen with his heat vision, which isn't much better.

Clark, in an attempt to make some spare cash, unintentionally stumbles into the world of superhero fanfiction, becomes a prolific writer for Gotham's OTP, and tries his best to fend off rival fans who want him to convert to superbat instead.
