Summary
In response to Annika de Riva's request for Viago to stop giving her contracts until after the gods have fallen, Viago offers one final task: Infiltrate Treviso's premiere "lifestyle club" and assassinate a patron. Annika chooses to take her fellow Crow Lucanis along for help in an effort to keep Emmrich away from the dangers of Crow business.
Emmrich, ever the besotted, supportive fool, insists on coming anyway, and, upon realizing Annika's target is a figure from his past, is forced to confront certain realities about being in love with an assassin.

Only, with a group like hers, there's always trouble on the horizon. Maker knows she has her own troubles, such as her new relationship with the handsome necromancer already on the rocks and the arrival of a troubling figure from her past.
Anyone need a palate cleanser after the Siege of Weisshaupt? Good lord, why couldn't we get a scene like in Inquisition where the gang is just...playing cards or something?
Rated E for shEnanigans....but also eventual smut.

His brow rose as her cheeks heated under his gaze. "Specifically, I want this-" she gasped and arched her back as a cool, lithe finger found its way beneath her short silken shift and dipped into the soaked folds between her legs- "delicious little cunt pressed against my mouth, my head bracketed between your perfect thighs, watching you fall apart above me as I feast." The noise that left her was downright humiliating then, somewhere between a strangled groan and a whine. Emmrich grinned. "If you please."

The way she looked at him like he had all the answers. The way she opened her heart to him, even as he held his back by a leash. It couldn’t be as it appeared: it simply wasn’t possible.
