The entire lobby was decorated and overrun with people, though it seemed that the party also continued upwards—since the floors above were also crowded. Balloons and golden confetti cascaded down onto those still on the bottom floor. Jazz music was blaring from some unseen speakers and a few people were up on tables drunkenly singing and dancing. It would’ve been an entertaining sight…but Atsushi had been subconsciously telling himself that whatever pill he took earlier was not ecstasy.

Summary
Atsushi felt frustrated that his relationship with his current girlfriend, Lucy, had ended so prematurely.
On the other hand, Akutagawa could no longer stand Higuchi's desperate advances, who continued to have hopes even after he "falsely" declared himself gay.
And in the end, without knowing it, they both had much more in common than just going to the same bar on a Friday night to drown their sorrows.
