A soft, nearly uncharacteristic smile creeps its way onto Yoo Joonghyuk’s face as he looks down at the man in his arms, his typically cold eyes radiating nothing short of adoration.
It’s such a foreign feeling for the regressor, to wake up in this slow and gentle way, even more so to allow himself the honor to bask in the quietness of the morning. Hardened from lifetimes of living through the end of everything, from decades of killing and awaiting death at every turn, Yoo Joonghyuk is perpetually on edge. He doesn’t slowly awaken from slumber, he jolts awake from a twilight sleep that is never deep enough for him to dream.

Summary
The cat makes some garbled sound in its sleep. It sounds like a demonic yawn.
“Yoo Joonghyuk, you bastard,” Kim Dokja mutters under his breath. How long did he keep this from him? How did Yoo Joonghyuk even keep a cat hidden in their shared apartment? Did their apartment complex even allow pets? Yoo Joonghyuk, that fucking bastard. He didn’t even tell him about this, and he wouldn’t be able to answer these goddamn questions of his until he came back out from wherever he was hiding.
Coming back to his apartment, what Kim Dokja doesn't expect to find is a sleeping cat.

Summary
Before Kim Dokja can make fun of him, Joonghyuk splutters and stumbles back. In the process, the cigarette slips from Dokja's hand and onto the floor. But he's not too focused on the lost cig, more than he is Joonghyuk. He turns to face him completely, at a complete loss of what to do. He's coughing, borderline retching.
Dokja reaches out, a hand patting Joonghyuk's back and the other brushing his hair away from his eyes. "Easy, easy." He soothes, and Joonghyuk listens. His coughing fit finishes as quickly as it came, and he looks up at Dokja with tears in his eyes. The older has to repress his laughter at the sight of him. "You—Are you okay?" He coughs out, pursing his lips together tightly.

Out of the blue, a thought suddenly entered his mind.
“Don’t people usually pair this with… ketchup?” His nose wrinkled.
Joonghyuk blinked leisurely, locking eyes with the boy. “But you don’t like ketchup,” he murmured. Kim Dokja’s gaze softened with emotion, fingers tapping on the table rhythmically.
“You remembered.”
Deliberately, Yoo Joonghyuk took his hands, intertwining little hands with his. The former’s grip was so firm yet so gentle. “How could I not?”
