Daniel swallowed his own saliva as he heard the metallic clatter of a platter and surgical instruments, and then the familiar sound of a cassette tape being placed inside a recorder, followed by a button being pressed. Hitting record.
Armand’s voice was loud and clear, with airs of professional impersonality. “Deceased’s name is Daniel Molloy. Male, Born October 10th, 1953. Height, 6 feet. Weight, 168 lbs. Race, Caucasian. Hair color, brown. Reported cause of death… Drug overdose.”
Or: soft, vulnerable things are made to be taken apart. In Armand's eyes, Daniel is soft, and too vulnerable.

Hell's done wonders for her self-esteem, but hangups from years of rejection don't die easy; she's not in any doubt about the value she's bringing, but she doesn't want to fuck up her big break by catching any kind of feelings (pants or heart) for either of her two new, possibly dating business partners. She knows well that she gets a little bit psycho when she likes someone.
(Un)fortunately, when Valentino turns up with an invitation to see him perform, he seems to want nothing more than to draw that ugly side of her out. If she wants to figure out what his enigmatic ass really feels about their alliance, she's going to have to play along.

Summary
It isn’t that Daniel is looking for him, per se. He resents any comparisons to the Vampire Armand tailing a guileless Daniel Molloy across states, countries, and continents, memories which are still foggy and undefined. Armand, Daniel has come to piece together, has crept across three separate landmasses and basically every city that one could conjure up in a tour of continental Europe in pursuit of Daniel. He doesn’t know much about that time, about the boy that he was, but he is sure that that much is true.
It’s just that Daniel is already touring the country, and if he keeps his senses tuned to any ancient vampires with heartbeats in perfect tandem with his (while also inquiring after the aforementioned paired entity every couple of calls to the closest thing to his vampire mentor, due to some extraneous circumstances), well, who could blame him?

He’s so annoying. Annoying enough to make Daniel want to – he flips the safety switch and pulls the trigger.
In which young Daniel buys a taser, because a spray bottle doesn’t work when a vampire gets the zoomies. Things quickly devolve into unhinged horny behavior.
