Summary
Alex is rushing in from the labs with a small blonde girl in her arms – the child is nestled in one of Alex’s hoodies, bare feet kicking lightly against Alex’s stomach. Maggie, who had been granted access long ago, looks equally harried as she comes in from the parking garage carrying a tiny girl wrapped in a towel – only the tiny dark haired child is wailing inconsolably and clinging to her tightly.
When the two women see each other they stop and stare for a moment, taking in what’s going on before Maggie exclaims with wide eyes, “Kara?!”
The blonde child perks up at her name, Alex rocks her tenderly, patting her back as she confirms, “Yep, Kara and a couple more at CatCo were kiddified. Who’s that?”
Maggie is desperately trying to calm the girl in her arms who hasn’t stopped crying since she and Sam managed to get her out from behind the sofa in the CFO’s office. The child has been sobbing so hard her cheeks are red and blotchy and she’s hiccupping. Maggie rocks her softly, bouncing her on her hip as she tries to comfort her, “It’s okay, niña. You’re safe here, Lena.”

Or: the trans!Kara AU that nobody asked for but I still wrote.

Wow. To hear Lena say this, to know that this still holds true even after everything that has happened… Kara flushes. She fiddles with her belt, exhales softly.
or Lena is a terrible enabler. Kara wants anything and everything Lena will give her, and underneath the weight of such gentle, earnest warmth, it keeps escaping Kara why that is dangerous.

Summary
Lena's favorite game on paper is chess. In reality, her favorite game is whatever is set up on Kara's living room table. Jenga, Life, Scrabble, it didn't matter which one was out, it become her favorite.
Since their fall out and the start of their tentative reconnection, Lena hasn't felt ready to accept Kara's invites to game night so her favorite game, on paper and in her new reality, is chess.
OR Lena invites Kara over for a one on one game night to rebuild their friendship through a game of chess.
