Upon several uncovered cases of collective consciousness and human experimentation research projects haunting the hall of the Matra, Nahida decides that an ethics course should be mandatory within the entire Akademiya shared amongst all Darshans. Her only dilemma is deciding who would be qualified enough to teach it.
Although it's rather unconventional and he most certainly doesn't have the qualifications to be a professor, who else would be better to teach the wrongs of human experimentation than a boy who's entire existence has been one experiment after another?
Enter Hat Guy! A brand new student to the Akademiya who is also apparently a professor?! Lord Kusanali why is HE teaching?!

“Yeah, yeah,” Four said, throwing up his hands. “Whatever. We can’t all be as fearless as you. Like, throw-yourself-off-a-cliff fearless? Or stare-a-bear-in-the-eyes fearless. There’s-something-not-quite-normal-about-you fearless.”

If Four had to name one thing that made his skin crawl the most, it'd have to be cats. Yes, cats! (And maybe one other thing... but he'd never admit it...) Luckily, their little group came equipped with an avid appreciator of putting oneself in mortal danger, and that was none other than the leading expert in the field: Wild. He who never flinches, even before death. But... perhaps there's one thing that can make even the most intrepid, iron-willed soldier balk...?
