Heiji had expected someone more like Mouri. Level-headed, kind, and well, female. Not that he was homophobic or anything! He was just surprised, that’s all. In fact, he had expected them to work out their differences and officially become a couple after Kudou beat that Black Organisation into the dust. But Kudou had said that they’d both moved on and were happier as friends, and while Heiji couldn’t say he understood how one could move on from the person they loved, if that Kuroba guy made Kudou happy, Heiji would support it.
Even if Kuroba was really weird.Or: Heiji and Shinichi solve a case together and Kaito tags along.

“Very well.” She gestures for them to follow her toward an open area near the bottom of a dais, the top of which is obscured by a red curtain. The ghost stops at the edge of the open area and bows in the direction of the curtain, a gesture far more respectful than the one she just gave the king.
“My Lord, these two would like to make a bet.” She turns back to the king and queen. “Tell our lord what you want to gain from this bet.”
“Information.” The king raises his head proudly and speaks directly to the curtain. “I want to know everything you know about his highness the crown prince of Xianle.”
OR Xie Lian's parents ghosts mysteriously wake from slumber and set out to find their son, eventually following the rumors all the way to Ghost City...
