He pretended not to notice the look Price gave him through the rearview mirror or the side eye Gaz sent to Price as he saw it too.
"Mm. Could be worse places," Ghost replied softer than before.
Soaps gaze dropped to their clasped hands and shifted his thumb over Ghosts, the hum of pain in his temple and sticky feeling of blood in his ear reminded him exactly where 'worse places' was.

He glances down just as the cabin lights shift, flicking bright white as the pilot flips the switches for disembark. Soap blinks, eyes adjusting to the brightness as the red gloom recedes just enough for him to see it.
Blood.
Everywhere.
There’s a pool of red beneath the jump seat where he’d been sitting, and a trail leading across the floor to where he’s standing right now.
“What the fuck—” Soap’s hand flies to his back, clumsy, and comes away dripping crimson.
His head swims. For a second he doesn’t comprehend it. He remembers the hits—two shots to his back, hard enough to knock the wind out of him—but the vest caught them. Didn’t it? His lower back is numb, nothing but strange building pressure, but the blood keeps coming, hot and steady.
He was shot. And he didn’t even feel it.-or- Desperate to prove he's worthy of the 141 (and Ghost), Soap overdoses on stims had has a bad time of it.

“I’m okay.” He tries to say, but the words are quiet, weak, with no energy behind them.
“You aren’t.” Comes the response. Yasui sounds worried now, which just makes Ranpo feel worse. “Tell me what’s wrong.”
“Nothing.” Ranpo’s fine, he has to be. He’s hurting a little, and he saw something horrible, but he’ll be fine. He just needs a moment to collect himself, and then he’ll be able to go and look for a way out like Yasui asked him to.
But even though his eyes are closed, he can tell that Yasui doesn’t believe him.
