It is an understatement to say that you are thrown, your heart leaping into your mouth at this, ability to speak momentarily gone.
You hear Bruce shift besides and behind you, unaware. A brief glance over to the guard in the corner reveals nothing—he follows only the order of his master unquestioningly, so this is beneath his concern. The only two people engaged in this conversation are you and Ra’s al Ghul.
