For the first time in weeks, TK wakes first.
He’s still getting used to the loft. Their bedroom is bigger than before, the mattress inexplicably softer in the sense that he just melts right into it, and Carlos doesn’t tend to close the door. It means there’s light both shining through the windows on the wall behind them—because they don’t have blinds or curtains—and flooding through from the loft’s main room, but TK finds he likes it. The light from the sun is warm and safe, and being with Carlos is warm and safe.

TK looked back down at the man in the bed, rumpled sheets just barely covering his perfect abs, leaving enough of his finely toned chest bare for TK’s eyes to linger. The question had been asked lightly, a bit drowsy as if Carlos was still too far gone to filter his words. It was asked that way, yes – but the words felt heavy in the space between them. They were loaded, somehow, and TK had to swallow the lump forming in his throat.~*~

"Does it still hurt?" Wille says, meeting Simon's eyes tentatively.
