Summary
"Or, how I learned to love myself again."
When Finn [last name unavailable] became a Commander after the first generation of Commanders pushed back the Sirens to their last strongholds, he thought that he could become a hero like the people he looked up to, fighting to save people's lives and become someone he could be proud of.
But with the Sirens all but gone, High Command has other plans to keep ports running. Exercises, once a way to allow Commanders to spar against each other, is now monetized and shown to an audience as if it were a sport. The art of naval tactics is now reduced to mere entertainment, with the only way for Commanders to keep ports running is to win exercises.
Yet, if his troubles weren't already bad enough his past has also now returned to haunt him. How in the world can he contend all of this?

Alright, I'm not going to lie, this is attempt number three for making a proper Raul x Phoebe fic for Valentine's Day.
The first one was rather jokey, but it contains lore that hasn't been shown yet. Had to bench that one.
The second one was depressing. Seeing how this is a day meant for love, I decided to bench that one as well.
