Everyone remembers the day that Death cried.
The stories of the Great Goddess mourning the impossible, shedding divine tears that fell upon the mortal plane for the loss of her son. Gods can’t die, yet mortals still mourn the boy who was lost, tossed from the divine heavens by a liar, and a cheat.
Tango still remembers his grandmother telling him the stories about the gods, the stories that were said to have happened a millennia ago. He remembers her telling how the twins; the Sun and the Moon still search unrestingly for their baby brother. How War still fights for his memory, and to protect his hearth; his home. He remembers her recounting the tale of the Traveller and the Artist going across the lands spreading the news that Life has been lost.
Tango never believed in gods.

Shelby stood on the top of the lake’s tower, still reeling from the thrill of teleporting to their scarlet beacon, breathing in the fresh air and soaking in the sun. They turned, a massive, toothy grin on their face and determination in their heart. Scott, Pyro, and Owen loomed behind her.
“Okay, guys! No more being grumpy,” Shelby exclaimed. “It’s beach time!”
The two oldest vampires leveled her with an unimpressed look.
“Shelby, this is a lake.”
