Mafuyu's eyes passed over her companion’s small frame, barely illuminated by the glow of the fire, and wondered again how she had ever been so terrified of this young girl. In the faint light, she might’ve mistaken her for an angel. Long white hair swooped over her shoulders like fresh snow, and the flicker of the fire glittered across her ivory skin, making her look almost alive.
Curled beneath the watchful eye of this beautiful, halcyon statue, Mafuyu let out a sigh of relief and allowed her eyes to fall closed, whisking her off into a blissful sleep.
