Hartley’s left eye swelled up into a shiner as he sat in the passenger seat of the car and the sympathetic man who had offered to drive him to the airport after the Debacle had given him an ice pack to put on it, offering his condolences for the ending of Hartley’s engagement.
And fuck, that was an insane thing to think about.
He’d almost married Madison.
The thought made Hartley’s head spin and he leaned back in the seat of the car, closing his eyes as he muttered, “God, I thought the new intern almost setting my office on fire was the worst I’d have to deal with this week. This week has been a shitshow.”

“I don’t understand what you mean,” Mordred said, suddenly feeling very wrongfooted.
“You’ve asked for something for all of the magic users in Camelot. You’ve asked for something for your people. You’ve asked for something for Merlin... but Mordred, you still haven’t told me what you want.”
Mordred swallowed, and caught a hint of cinnamon on his tongue once more. “I want to celebrate the solstice with you and Gwen and the knights,” he whispered. “I want to spend Yule with my family again.”
OR
After deciding that destiny doesn’t mean as much to him as his family does, Mordred seeks to make his first Yule as a free spirit the most magical one that Camelot has ever seen. Running headfirst into multiple romantic plots going on around him, a mysterious threat to his King, and the wall of resentment that still separates him from Emrys, he searches for validation in the traditions underlying it all, and the magic underlying those.
A story about the healing, connection, and hope which seem most potent as we draw together to ward off the longest night of the year.
