The Doctor narrowed his eyes at him, “You came here to change the future?”
“Yes.”
He shook his head, “No. You can’t play with time like that. It’s delicate. It’s fragile. You can’t just-”
“You seem to forget I’m also a Time Lord.” Theo cut him off with a glare. The Doctor glared at him right back, “I may not have had the decades of study and centuries of experience that you have had, but I too can see the timelines. They converge and diverge and tangle and I see all of them. Everything that was, everything that is, everything that ever could be.” He took a breath when his father turned away, breaking their stare, but he continued, “What happens in the future, it’s not right. You lose people you shouldn’t have to, and you break mom’s heart a few times more because that’s what the universe demands. All of it- all of it because of one thing. Just one. And I’m going to make sure it doesn’t happen.”
