Kendra hadn’t really been the same since prison.
Her therapist says she needs a friend- one will do. But Jace doesn't speak to her anymore, and Jeremy moved out of state to get away from her. And had they ever really been her friends, anyway? Did someone like Kendra know how to have friends- how to even be a friend?
All Kendra is sure of is that she doesn't want to go back to prison. That, and she should probably make some changes in her life. She's got a new job, a new apartment, a new car- the latter two decidedly falling somewhere in the "previously owned" category.
The true test though, is being alone. Alone with herself. With a person she didn’t even like, didn’t even know, anymore. And Kendra spent many, many nights, alone in her tiny apartment, wondering if change was even worth it, when she still hated herself.
But, perhaps, one Donatello Hamato will convince her that she is changing. Perhaps he'll even be her friend.
