Steve laughed, rubbing his hands down his face. “I’d throw away anything and everything for you, Buck. That’s what you don’t get. Until the end of the line, remember?”
That seemed to hit something in Bucky, his eyes watering as he looked away. “You don’t even know me anymore, Steve.”

Eddie leans against the van to peer over his shoulder as he connects the leads. He’s close enough that Steve can smell him; close enough that he can feel the shift of air on the side of his neck as Eddie breathes. If it were one of the kids, he’d shove them off and reassert his personal space, but it’s never really bothered him when it’s Eddie. It’s distracting, but Eddie is always kind of distracting. Steve doesn’t mind.
