    Denji inches forward with a chorus of shifting plastic and crushed rubbish. He brushes against the rifle in the process, and there's a moment where he pauses while Aki tries not to flinch. A second later, he's moving again. He's inches away from his head when he asks, "Aki? Is it really you?"

    Aki doesn't want to open his eyes, isn't sure that he can bear to see how Denji's looking at him, but he finds that he can't keep them closed. With a faint, labored sigh, he opens inhuman eyes and murmurs, "Hello, Denji."
