He doesn't think anything of the redhead at first, not of how the other moves so elegantly and speaks so smoothly, not of how his outfit always seems to outline the dips and curves of his body in a tantalizing manner that definitely doesn't leave the brunette a little bit hot and bothered, and absolutely not how his work schedule seems to flow so much better, leaving enough time for him to fuck said secretary over his office desk.

Summary
...and when Link reaches out, fingertips gently brushing the yellow petals of the flower, many things happen at once.
The flower disappears with a 'poof!' only to reappear a few feet away.
The screech of monsters echo throughout the forest, an arrow lodging itself into his shoulder as he notices too late the lookout Bokoblins that have spotted him.
A popping resounds behind him just before a small boulder from an Octorok collides with the back of his head.
But what catches his attention the most, throughout this sudden whirlwind of action, is the feint sound of a familiar tune catching the wind.
[ Just something that happened to me during my BotW playthrough. Pretty much just my thoughts and how I dealt with the situation. ]

Summary
What Jayce first ascribed to suppressants (and sheer willpower) was actually the byproduct of a serious medical condition. Viktor hasn't had a heat since he was a teenager. Every year Viktor’s hypothalamus tested the dry well of his fuel reserves and elected to divert any runoff from ovulation to more vital bodily functions (say, breathing).
Worse: It’s common knowledge that heats and ruts are strongest at their outset. Hormones fluctuate over the years; cycles settle; the body calibrates to accommodate the unruly roommate of ovulation. But Viktor’s body doesn’t have the benefit of practice. Somehow—against every natural law—Viktor, about a side glance from death and as far as a decade from his last heat, is about to nosedive into an induction furnace.

When the temporary energy boost from his first Shimmer experiment triggers a heat, Viktor resolves to suffer the consequences alone. Needless to say, things don't go as planned.

Summary
Jayce looks at Viktor, taking in the indecisiveness on his face, the tightness in his shoulders, the haunted look in his eyes that never quite goes away anymore. And something inside him clicks into place.
It's not that Viktor doesn’t want him.
It’s that Viktor doesn’t trust himself to want.
"Is that what you need, Viktor?" Jayce asks, eyes softening. "For someone to take the choice away from you? Because I can do that for you, if you'll let me. I can take control from here on out and you'll never to worry about anything else. Would you like that?"
Viktor's eyes are wide, lips parted from where his mouth has fallen open slightly, and for a moment, he seems speechless, but then he nods, a small, barely perceptible shake of his head that reveals more than enough of his longing. "Please."
After waking up in an unfamiliar timeline, Jayce and Viktor find it all too easy to fall into bed together instead of talking about their feelings. This, naturally, leads to consequences neither are prepared for.
Like unwittingly falling into a dom/sub dynamic, for example.

If asked at gunpoint later what that room looked like—the color of the walls, the furniture, the floor, whatever—Jayce would be shot on the spot.
Because a stranger lies stomach down, ass up, and naked as the day is long on a chaise lounge before him, a curtain hiding the top half of body from the dip in his spine onward. Presenting himself. And that is the only thing his eyes lock on to.
Jayce goes to the Undercity for an anonymous encounter. It becomes a habit.
Or: the one where Jayce is obsessed with Viktor's moles.

Summary
Viktor’s covered their lab couch in nice new blankets, same as his living room couch, and same as the bed he invites Jayce into most nights. He can’t pop a knot as strong as he used to, and his new ruts feel… remarkably more like what he’s imagined a heat might feel like, now that he really thinks about it.
Maybe spending all his time around Jayce has convinced Viktor’s body to begin a... metamorphosis of some sort.
Put plainly, if he were talking to his friends in Zaun, they’d say Viktor was being bitched.
