And if the fit of the rings changed, little by little, the change wasn’t large enough from day to day for any of them to notice. And then Nemer found himself thinking it was time to contact Dachensol Habrobar about adding some ease to Edrehasivar’s signet ring, and realised all of a sudden that something had changed.
The signet ring had fit perfectly at first, Nemer was sure of it. Hadn’t it? Or was he remembering that wrong? Maybe it had always been a little snug, maybe they had accepted that it didn’t slide on easily in exchange for the security of knowing it wouldn’t slide off easily.

The one that really reminds me of Batman & Robin 2024 Annual.
They take turns picking over the weapons. A pair of escrima is tucked into Dick’s belt, a hatchet looped into Tim’s jeans. Damian stands sentry over them, held still by Tim’s hand on his hip while they push knives into his pockets.
“Back to the cabin?” Tim asks, when Dick starts kicking the remainder of the knives under the car’s hull.
“To the city.”
Tim grimaces. That’s thirty miles from here. A fifteen hour hike at the very least.
“Leave the bow,” Dick says, prying it from Damian’s hands. He hands him the empty duffel bag. “Are you good to run?”
“We don’t have much of a choice,” The boy grumbles.
“I could carry you,” Dick offers, and Tim knows he would, if Damian just asked.
He doesn’t.
