Though, it doesn't help that her gaze just keeps being drawn to Shizuku. It's not her fault that Shizuku is so pretty, and she definitely isn't thinking about how her pale blue hair curls about her ear just so as it's tied up, or how elegant her hands seem to be as she works, or... no, snap out of it! After all, Airi is sure that Shizuku isn't into her at all, so she should probably stop staring and focus and stop being so weird about it, because nothing goes in her favor and it's never going to work out. Right.

“Hey,” Airi manages, voice still thick with sleep. Her throat hurts, too – probably more from shouting than from injury, if she had to guess. “Not dead, I guess?”
Shizuku smiles a little bigger, at that.

“Well, no, that is what a crush is, but…you can’t have a crush on a girl,” Ayano says.
Minori blinks once, then twice. “What? Why?”
“Well, it’s just one of those things you’re not supposed to do! Like…” Yui leans in and drops her voice to a whisper. “Well, my mom said it’s like how kids aren’t supposed to date adults.”
“Yeah, my dad said girls are only supposed to like boys and boys are only supposed to like girls. Anyone else is…gay.” Ayano says that word like it’s a curse - like she could get in trouble just for uttering it.

Summary
It’s a little petty of her to feel jealous, Shizuku knows. Airi is a popular girl, and she doesn’t have infinite time. Much of it she’s already devoting to making More More Jump the best they can be – so she really shouldn’t be so selfish.
Yet, she selfishly, selfishly wishes that sometimes she could have Airi all to herself. Just for a little bit.
Maybe then she’d listen – maybe then she’d believe the words that tumble out of Shizuku’s mouth every time she hears her put herself down. Maybe then she’d understand just how strongly Shizuku feels about this – about her.
For someone so dazzling – well, Shizuku thinks it’s a shame she’s so blinded by her own radiance that she can’t see it for herself.
