Summary
Morpheus has given The Corinthian everything that was promised. Attention, adoration, excitement every night... but he has tasted the eyes of mortals in the waking realm, and to go back to what he had before plagues him with a hunger that cannot be satisfied. To keep his Nightmare happy, Dream proposes a solution:
He will let himself be stalked by The Corinthian, trapped in a mortal body, within a nightmare... where he holds no power. The agreement is that his Nightmare may do whatever he likes, and he will not use his powers until either Corinthian allows it, his mortal body dies, or something goes very wrong within the Dreaming. His power and awareness will remain trapped within this mortal body, and only his Nightmare may draw him out. There is one last condition...
He must give The Corinthian his eyes.

When The Corinthian kidnaps Hob and eats his eyes, he expects to incur the wrath of his Master. Any attention is better than nothing at all... even if it runs the risk of his unmaking. What he DOESN'T expect is that his petty act results in anger, but also concern. Morpheus decides to put his foot down and root out the cause of his Nightmare's desperation.
