Sam swears he isn’t a sore loser. Sure, he’ll bitch and complain and accuse Bucky of cheating, but he won’t flake out on his end of the bargain. Which, in this case, is a week’s worth of household chores, because there’s certainly no other way Captain America would love to spend his down time in between missions. He looks down at his hands as he towels them dry, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the elephant in the room, which is the fact that Sam is currently wearing a fucking dress.
Right. A week’s work of household chores, paired with the punishment of wearing a fucking maid dress around the house for part of the week. Because he’s the idiot who had upped the stakes with a rematch, and because Bucky’s an asshole.

“C’mon, so you’re tellin’ me you haven’t kissed anyone since nineteen forty-three?"
Bucky does not act on ruining that 84-year streak right then and there because Sam’s eyes are enormous, practically sparkling with unhinged curiosity that he looks scary similar to the kid whenever something flags down his hyperactive brain.
“Yup,” he says, totally level-headed. The most level-headed he’s ever been.
“Think you’re outta practice?”
“Nope.” Bucky’s a natural at this. Level-headed is his middle name. "It's just like riding a bike, Sammy. Once you remember, it's pretty hard to forget."
Then suddenly it's, “Do you want to?” and Bucky feels like all his level-headedness was grabbed by the balls and ripped right out of him.
Or: Bucky wants and craves and loves Sam so much that it makes him a little dumb. And a whole lot more eager to kiss him.

“What? Resorting to exploiting your position or to downloading a dating app?” Sharon laughs at the exasperated look on his face.“Either.”
“Well, they do say dating is hard as a celebrity, and that’s certainly what you are now, Cap.”
