The blood red of his hair and sword gives his identity away immediately. He walks towards her at a steady pace, his boots making a quiet thud each time the rubber soles hit the hardwood floor.
She’s frozen in place, unable to reach for Gambol Shroud to defend herself, and can’t muster up the aura to deploy a shadow clone to evade his inevitable descent upon her. All she can do is stand and watch him and the embers dancing over half of his masked face…”

What catches him most off guard, however, is his voice. One morning, he wakes up and could swear it had dropped an octave deeper in the night. He’s wondering if it’s still just wishful thinking making him imagine it all when Caitlyn makes her way into the kitchen later, still groggy from sleep. She shuffles over to him and drops her head on his shoulder as he hands her a cup of coffee with one hand, the other sliding over her waist as he kisses her on the top of her head and says, “Good morning, cupcake.”
Her head jerks up - nearly smacking him in the nose - and she narrows her eyes at him, suddenly alert.
“Say that again.”
“Uh, good morning?”
Caitlyn’s eyes light up, a grin breaking out on her face. “I can hear it! It’s deeper!”

Passion as attention, Yang's eyes on Blake as she curls her fingers inside her, watches everything play out on Blake's face, learning every detail, what do you like?, and Blake has never felt so safe to say it out loud, so safe to let go.
