“Why…?” she squeaked to herself, “Why am I so stupid…?” She slammed the heel of her palm into her forehead. “So mean…?” Her hand clenched, ready to tear at her fringe again, “S-So ugly?!”
She didn’t notice the soft footsteps approaching her. She didn’t notice until there was a figure crouched next to her, leaning its cheek against its elbows and looking upon her with an expression no one else had ever managed to view her with… It was almost entirely blank.
“I don’t think you’re stupid.”

Until he hears a sigh that isn't his own. Turns out Will is still in that gap between the wall and his bed, asleep.
